Emotion-focused couples therapy training in Johannesburg

I cannot wait until August for the International Training opportunity in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (Thursday, 28th August - Sunday, 31st August 2014) by Trainers of the International Emotion Focused Therapy Centre of Excellence: Kathryn De Bruin, Marriage & Family Therapist and Professor Jim Furrow, PhD hosted at Gracepoint, Midrand, JHB.

And the Hold Me Tight Weekend Workshop for Couples (Friday evening, 22nd August - Sunday, 24th of August 2014) faciliated by Kathryn De Bruin, MFT. For couples who would like to actively work on their relationship and deepen their attachment to each other. The focus will be on the couple having conversations with their partner.

Sessions are usually of 51-60 minutes duration.
Consultation fees are within medical aid rates and your account can be settled via cash or EFT. Payments via EFT must be made before the session and proof of payment must be brought on the day of your appointment. It is a cash practice so please settle your account yourself and then claim from your medical aid. Appointments not cancelled within 24 hours will be charged for. You are welcome to phone me or email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible (usually the same day).

ABOUT ME

I am a HPCSA registered Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Bryanston, Johannesburg and Moreleta Park, Pretoria, Gauteng. I completed my undergraduate BA degree and Honours Degree in Psychology at Stellenbosch University.

During my training I worked as a lay counsellor for five years. I have also worked as an Assessment Specialist for Adcorp Talent Resourcing conducting psychological assessments for government departments and private companies.

I completed my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology (cum laude) at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth gaining experience at the university clinic and private psychiatric hospital.

I completed my year of Community Service at Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital in Pretoria working with adults and adolescents as well as families.

Currently, I am also a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of South Africa in Pretoria.

I believe in tailoring therapy to meet the needs of the individual, couple or group. I work with children, adolescents and adults.
